This Is Not the LGU Website, and That Is the Point
This independent Masinloc platform cannot issue a permit or speak for government. What it can do is show its sources, hold a question open, protect submissions and publish a correction trail.
A visitor looking for a permit, tax record or municipal announcement should not have to infer what this site is. Discover Masinloc and Masinloc Connect are independent private initiatives. They are not websites, programmes, offices or services of the Municipal Government of Masinloc, the Province of Zambales or any Philippine government agency.
The distinction is not modesty. It is what makes this kind of work possible. An official municipal site is, correctly, an instrument of the institution that publishes it. It announces, it records, it represents. What it generally cannot do is publish a page saying the town's most repeated founding date does not survive checking, or that a beloved local claim about a world record has no documentation behind it.
What independence is for
An independent project can hold a question open. It can publish the sentence "this remains unverified" and treat that as a finished piece of work rather than an embarrassment. Several articles on this site do exactly that, and they are among the more useful things here.
The most valuable thing an independent record can publish is an honest "not yet".
It cuts the other way too, and should. This project has no authority to speak for Masinloc, cannot issue or process any government document, and does not claim endorsement it has not been given. Where coordination with the municipal government happens, it will be described accurately and only after it is confirmed by the appropriate office.
How to check what you read here
Fact-heavy articles carry a short sources section at the foot. Where a claim rests on something this project has not been able to locate, that is said in the article rather than left for the reader to discover. And where an article is wrong, the correction path is a contact form that a person reads, not a form that generates an automatic reply.
